LS-P4 on üks esimesi lineaarseid PCM-salvesteid maailmas, mis võimaldab teha FLAC-formaadis salvestusi. Peaaegu täiuslikud 96kHZ/24-bitised salvestused, mille kvaliteet on parem kui CD-plaadil – kuid failisuurused on kuni 30% väiksemad kui PCM WAV-formaadil.

LS-P4 helisalvestit saab kasutada ka kõrgkvaliteetse muusikapleierina FLAC-formaadis failide või WAV ja MP-3-formaadis muusika kuulamiseks. Tänu USER-režiimi ekvalaiserile, on esituseelistuste kohandamine lihtne. On võimalik nautida isegi kõrgresolutsiooniga muusika jaotuse veebilehtedelt alla laetud muusikapalasid.

LS-P4 on üks esimesi lineaarseid PCM-salvesteid, millel on seadmesse integreeritud sisse-/väljahajumise funktsionaalsus. See tagab lugude loomuliku ühenduvuse live-heliallikatest tuleva heli salvestamisel, elimineerides ebaloomulikud klõpsuvad hääled.
