4K video recording and sensor design

Video and broadcast

At the center of the camera is a DX-format 20.9 MP CMOS sensor that not only meets the needs of video production, but also makes the Z30 a very capable still camera.

  • UHD 4K recording up to 30p is supported to ensure clear and high definition video. Full HD 120p recording is also available for slow-motion playback.

  • Continuous recording of up to 2 hours 15 minutes is possible for documenting events or any other situation that requires longer continuous filming jobs.

  • Live streaming is available at up to Full HD 60p or 4K 30p, and the Z30 is compatible with a variety of web conferencing applications, meaning it can easily double as a high-quality webcam.

  • For longer runs, streaming, and other situations where constant power is required, the Z30 can be powered via a USB Type-C port.

Photo opportunities

  • The versatile 20.9MP resolution also meets photo needs, making the Z30 a great tool for shooting production shots or shooting higher-resolution thumbnails and promotional images.

  • The large DX-format sensor is useful in low-light conditions, producing low noise, high clarity and a useful sensitivity range from ISO 100 to 51,200, or up to ISO 25,600 for video recording.

  • For capturing fast-moving action, a maximum continuous shooting speed of up to 11 frames per second is possible.

  • Combining photos and videos allows time-lapse photography in the camera.

  • Built-in presets and filters can also be used to enhance photos and videos directly from the camera.

Vlogging Basics

Designed for videography and content creation, the Z30 has a host of physical touch and performance features perfect for creators:

  • The compact body features a 3.0-inch 1.04m dot free-angle LCD display. This positionable screen can face forward for precise selfies and can close inward to protect the screen from scratches and fingerprints when not in use.

  • Selfie-style controls allow you to change focus position and exposure, as well as set the timer using the touchscreen when the screen is facing forward.

  • The front red light clearly shows when the camera is recording.

  • Special attention is paid to audio recording with a top stereo microphone and a 3.5 mm external microphone port for working with an optional microphone. There is also an optional special wind damper to reduce wind noise and improve quality with the built-in microphone.

  • Watch portable videos with e-VR Digital Image Stabilization, which helps reduce unwanted shakes and shakes during recording.

Fast, reliable autofocus

The hybrid autofocus system uses both phase and contrast detection methods to focus quickly and accurately in both stills and video.

  • Eye Detection AF uses face detection to help capture the subject's eyes.

  • Face and eye tracking can recognize people, dogs, and cats, as well as capture these subjects and monitor focus as they move around the scene.

  • Ideally suited for close-up of the product, the AF system is fast ai and naturally shifts focus when you hold something close to the camera, then shifts focus back to the subject as the product moves away.

Communication and performance

  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatibility work with the Snapbridge app for mobile devices, allowing remote control of the camera as well as wireless transfer of photos and videos to a smartphone or tablet.

  • Intuitive design includes "?" button to clearly explain all of the camera's settings, there's a special auto mode for when you want the camera to optimize your shooting settings, and there's also a customizable "i" menu for quick access to key settings.
