Für Bootsführer und Wassersportfans, die mit den Besten Schritt halten möchten, bietet der robuste GPSMAP 78 ein helles Farbdisplay, einen Empfänger mit hoher Empfindlichkeit, ergonomisch geformte Seitengriffe aus rutschfesten Gummi und für die Kartendaten neben dem internen Speicher einen zusätzlichen microSD(TM)-Kartensteckplatz. Der GPSMAP 78 ist sogar schwimmfähig!

Entdecken
Der GPSMAP 78 verfügt über eine integrierte weltweite Basiskarte, mit der Sie alle Ziele mühelos erreichen können. Der GPSMAP 78 ist wasserdicht für bis zu 30 Minuten bei 1m Wassertiefe (gemäß IPX7).

Position halten
Mit dem WAAS-fähigen GPS-Empfänger mit hoher Empfindlichkeit sowie HotFix(TM)-Satellitenvorhersage kann der GPSMAP 78 Ihre Position im Handumdrehen genau bestimmen und seine GPS-Position auch in dichten Wäldern und tiefen Schluchten laufend aktualisieren. Zusätzliche Karten können problemlos hinzugefügt werden: Das breite Kartensortiment von Garmin umfasst detaillierte topografische Karten, See- und Straßenkarten, die auf microSD-Speicherkarten und/oder DVD verfügbar sind. Für einen fantastischen Tag auf See nutzen Sie einfach Ihren GPSMAP 78 und ergänzen Sie ihn mit den vorinstallierten BlueChart® g2 Speicherkarten. An Land tauschen Sie die microSD-Speicherkarte aus und nutzen für Ihren Ausflug die aktuelle Straßenkarte City Navigator NT®. Der Kartensteckplatz befindet sich innerhalb des wasserdichten Batteriefachs und ist so vor Nässe geschützt. Der GPSMAP 78 unterstützt auch BirdsEye(TM)-Satellitenbilder (Abonnement erforderlich), sodass Sie Satellitenbilder auf das Gerät herunterladen und zusammen mit den Karten verwenden können. Zudem ist der GPSMAP 78 mit Custom Maps kompatibel, einer kostenlosen Software, mit der Sie Papier- und elektronischen Karten in Rasterkarten umwandeln und auf das Gerät übertragen können.

Freude am Spielen
Der GPSMAP 78 unterstützt papierloses Geocaching. Die heruntergeladenen GPX-Dateien enthalten nicht nur die Positionsdaten sondern auch Informationen, Kommentare und Hinweise zum Geocach. Dadurch sparen Sie sich das Ausdrucken von Informationen und tragen so zum Umweltschutz bei. Auf dem GPSMAP 78 werden alle wichtigen Informationen, z. B. zu Position, Gelände und Schwierigkeitsgrad, sowie Hinweise und Beschreibungen gespeichert. Das manuelle Eingeben von Koordinaten gehört somit der Vergangenheit an. Laden Sie die GPX-Datei einfach auf das Gerät, und schon können Sie sich auf die Jagd nach Geocaches begeben.
