Allen & Heath CQ-18T - Digital Mixer

This compact desktop digital mixer is aimed at musicians, bands, content creators and users who need reliable audio control for live sound, recording and streaming. The CQ-18T combines a 7-inch touchscreen with physical controls and built-in assistant functions, allowing a quick start and an efficient workflow. Despite its compact design, the mixer offers extensive connection, routing and recording options and is suitable for rehearsal rooms, stage use, studio work and mobile applications. The feature set is consistently focused on practical real-world use.

Flexible inputs and outputs for many setups
With 16 analogue mic/line inputs and a dedicated stereo line input, bands, podcasts or spoken word setups can be realised flexibly. In addition, there are dedicated stereo channels for USB and Bluetooth playback. The main outputs (Main L/R) and six separate monitor outputs allow individual mixes for FOH, stage or in-ear monitoring. Two freely assignable headphone outputs support parallel monitoring. This allows the mixer to be integrated into a wide range of audio setups without additional hardware.

Recording and playback without extra devices
The CQ-18T features a USB-B interface that works as a 24×22 audio interface and enables multitrack recording and playback at 48 kHz or 96 kHz. In addition, the integrated SD card slot allows multitrack recording and playback without a computer (24×22 at 48 kHz or 16×16 at 96 kHz). Stereo recording and playback are also possible via USB-A and Bluetooth audio, each with its own input channel. This makes the mixer suitable for flexible recording, streaming and playback workflows.

Assistive tools for fast sound setup
Quick and Complete Channels allow simplified or full channel processing, depending on experience level and workflow. The Gain Assistant automatically sets suitable input levels and monitors them during use. The Feedback Assistant detects problematic frequencies and reduces feedback using up to 16 filters per output. Four internal FX engines provide reverb, delay and modulation effects and allow sound shaping without external effect devices.

Operation and control in focus
A 7-inch capacitive touchscreen forms the central control surface. It is complemented by an associated rotary encoder, three custom rotaries and three soft keys for frequently used functions. The integrated dual-band WiFi allows control via the CQ-MixPad app without an external router; alternatively, an Ethernet port is available for wired networks. DCAs and mute groups make it easier to control multiple channels together and maintain clarity even in more complex setups.
