Ostoja to przepięknie ilustrowana gra strategiczna, w której każda z podejmowanych decyzji może okazać się kluczowa dla ostatecznego wyniku. Podczas zabawy umieszczamy kolorowe elementy krajobrazu na swoich planszetkach i tworzymy niezwykłe krainy. Aby wygrać, musimy zdobyć jak najwięcej punktów, w przemyślany sposób zakładając siedliska i przyciągając do nich zwierzęta.

Na czym to polega?

  • Celem gry jest zdobycie jak największej liczby punktów za elementy krajobrazu i zgromadzone znaczniki zwierząt.
  • W swojej turze bierzemy żetony krajobrazów z planszy głównej i umieszczamy je na swojej planszetce według zasad określonych w instrukcji.
  • Kolory oraz symbole żetonów reprezentują różne rodzaje terenów, a odpowiednie ich zestawy siedliska. To właśnie na tych ostatnich będziemy się skupiać, by przyciągnąć zwierzęta.
  • Raz na turę możemy wybrać jedną z odkrytych kart zwierząt. W ten sposób wyznaczamy sobie cele każda z kart ma na dole układ żetonów krajobrazu, który musimy odwzorować na swojej planszetce, by dane zwierzę mogło pojawić się na naszym terenie.
  • Układ siedliska na naszej planszetce musi być taki sam jak na karcie zwierzęcia, wliczając wysokość gór i drzew. Może być jednak obrócony w dowolną stronę.
  • Gdy uda nam się odwzorować wskazany układ żetonów, możemy przenieść jeden ze znaczników zwierząt z karty na odpowiedni element krajobrazu na naszej planszetce.
  • Gra kończy się, gdy nie można dobrać wystarczającej liczby żetonów krajobrazu z woreczka lub gdy na planszy jednego z graczy pozostaną dwa (lub mniej) puste pola. Każdy z elementów krajobrazu punktuje na swój własny sposób (niektóre w zależności od wysokości, inne według zasad sąsiedztwa). Punkty zdobywamy też za zgromadzone znaczniki zwierząt.

Dlaczego pokochasz tę grę?

  • To świetny przykład gry, w której podstawowe zasady są proste, a całe piękno tkwi w zależnościach między elementami. Dopasowywanie poszczególnych rodzajów żetonów to wbrew pozorom nie lada wyzwanie, a gracze będą stale rozdarci między tworzeniem układów z kart zwierząt a skutecznym grupowaniem elementów terenu.
  • Poprzez wprowadzenie lub usunięcie z gry specjalnych karty duchów natury możemy modyfikować poziom trudności rozgrywki. Instrukcja zawiera też szereg wskazówek, dzięki którym pierwsza partia będzie nieco łatwiejsza, co usprawni poznawanie gry.
