Kasutus ja ühilduvus

Kaabel on suunatud DP → HDMI ühenduseks, mis tähendab, et allikas peab toetama Dual-Mode DisplayPort (DP++) režiimi, et HDMI-seade saaks signaali vastu võtta. See lahendus töötab tavaliselt sülearvutite, lauaarvutite ja graafikakaartidega, mille DisplayPort väljund kannab HDMI-süntaksit. See ei muuda HDMI-signaali DisplayPort-iks — HDMI→DP ühenduseks oleks vaja aktiivset adapterit.
