Testimised on näidanud, et 30% soojusvaetust toimub läbi kaane ja 30% läbi põhja. Seetõttu on isolatsiooni seal suurendatud. Soojale maapinnale asetamisel tekkiva soojusülekande vähendamiseks on põhja all jalad, mis isoleerivad kasti maapinnast. Samuti aitavad soojuse ülekannet vähendada ümardatud nurgad.
