DIGITUS RAID SATA 2.5" SSD / HDD ümbris USB 3.0-ga on ideaalne lahendus oluliste andmete kaitsmiseks kaotsimineku eest. Tänu RAID1 funktsioonile saab teha andmete peegeldamist, nii et andmed kirjutatakse mõlemale kõvakettale samamoodi. Tänu RAID0 funktsioonile jagatakse andmed plokkideks mõlema kõvaketta vahel. Ümbrise teine võimalus on JBOD funktsioon, mis võimaldab ühendada kaks kõvaketast üheks ühendatud kõvakettaks. Tavalises režiimis ilmuvad mõlemad kõvakettad eraldi kõvakettadena. Individuaalsed režiimid seadistatakse ümbrises oleva DIP-lüliti abil. Ümbrise USB 3.0 port tagab kiire andmeedastuse allika ja ümbrise vahel. RAID-ümbris saab ühendada ka NAS-i või nt ruuteriga, millel on USB-port ja NAS-i funktsioon, mis võimaldab RAID-ümbrist kasutada ka võrgus.
