The TerraMaster D4-320 is a high-performance DAS enclosure equipped with 4 bays for SATA drives, designed for convenient expansion of storage capacity. The device supports 3.5" HDDs, 2.5" HDDs, and 2.5" SSDs, offering a maximum capacity of up to 88 TB. Thanks to its USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s, it ensures fast file transfer speeds of up to 1016 MB/s when using all four drives. The D4-320 model supports hot-swap functionality, automatic disk sleep mode, and is compatible with Windows and macOS. It’s a practical solution for users who need ample space for multimedia, backups, graphic design projects, or corporate archives.

Fast Data Access and High Performance

The modern USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface allows you to harness the full potential of today’s HDD and SSD drives. A maximum bandwidth of 10 Gb/s enables efficient copying of large files, photo libraries, video footage, and work projects. In a four-drive configuration, the total read and write speed can reach up to 1016 MB/s, while a single SSD achieves transfer rates exceeding 500 MB/s. This makes day-to-day work with large amounts of data much more comfortable and efficient.

Four drive bays and up to 88 TB of capacity

The D4-320 allows for the installation of up to four SATA drives, providing great flexibility when expanding data storage. The device supports drives with capacities of up to 22 TB each, which translates to a maximum of 88 TB of available space. Such a large capacity is ideal for both home and professional use, where extensive multimedia libraries, project documentation, or backups are stored. The ability to use different types of drives allows you to tailor the configuration to your individual needs.

Independent Operation of Each Drive

The device does not have a built-in RAID function and supports only Single Disk mode. This means that each installed drive is visible to the operating system as a separate, independent storage space. This solution simplifies data management and allows you to freely use drives of various capacities and purposes. Users who wish to use a RAID array can configure it using external software supported by the operating system.

Tool-Free Drive Replacement

TerraMaster has equipped the D4-320 model with a modern drive mounting system that eliminates the need for tools during daily operation. Special trays allow for quick insertion or removal of drives, which significantly reduces the time needed to expand storage or replace a drive. An additional convenience is the proprietary Push-Lock mechanism, which automatically secures the drive once it is inserted into the bay. As a result, the drive remains securely seated, and the entire installation process takes just a few moments.

Intelligent Cooling and Quiet Operation

A large 120 mm fan equipped with an intelligent speed control system is responsible for maintaining optimal temperatures. Its speed is automatically adjusted based on the temperature of the installed drives, allowing for effective dissipation of excess heat. The manufacturer has also ensured an optimal internal design of the enclosure and a vibration-damping system that minimizes the resonance generated during the operation of mechanical drives. As a result, the device operates exceptionally quietly, with a noise level in standby mode below 21 dB(A), which promotes a comfortable working environment in the office or at home.

Wide Compatibility and Convenient Operation

The enclosure supports many popular file systems, including NTFS, APFS, exFAT, FAT32, and EXT4. The USB-C port ensures compatibility with devices supporting USB 4, USB 3.2, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, and Thunderbolt 3 and 4. The Hot Swap feature allows you to replace drives without having to power down the device, and the automatic sleep mode for storage devices helps reduce energy consumption. Its compact design means the D4-320 fits easily on a desk, while offering large storage capacity and convenient access to data.
