The TerraMaster D2-320 is an external DAS enclosure equipped with two bays for SATA HDDs and SSDs, designed for users who need ample storage space and high performance. The device supports 3.5" HDDs, 2.5" HDDs, and 2.5" SSDs, offering a maximum capacity of up to 44 TB. Thanks to the USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s, it enables fast data transfer, and in a RAID 0 configuration with two SSDs, it can achieve read speeds of up to 1075 MB/s and write speeds of up to 956 MB/s. Compatibility with Windows, macOS, and Linux means the D2-320 integrates easily into various work environments.

Flexible Storage Configuration

Two drive bays allow you to create a configuration tailored to your individual needs. You can use high-capacity HDDs for data archiving or fast SSDs for working with large files and projects. The maximum supported capacity of 44 TB allows you to store extensive libraries of photos, videos, backups, or company documentation. Thanks to support for various storage formats, expanding your storage space is simple and convenient.

Hardware RAID for Performance and Security

The TerraMaster D2-320 supports hardware RAID modes: RAID 0, RAID 1, JBOD, and Single Disk. RAID 0 boosts performance by combining the capabilities of both drives, while RAID 1 creates a mirror image of the data, enhancing the security of stored files. JBOD mode is also available, which combines the capacity of the installed drives into a single storage space. The built-in automatic array recovery feature further simplifies data management and enhances the convenience of everyday use.

10 Gb/s USB-C Interface

The enclosure is equipped with a modern USB-C port compliant with the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard. This solution provides high bandwidth and broad compatibility with computers equipped with USB 3.0, USB 3.1, USB 3.2, Thunderbolt 3, and Thunderbolt 4. When using two SSDs in RAID 0 mode, the device can achieve read speeds of up to 1075 MB/s and write speeds of up to 956 MB/s. Actual results depend on the storage media used and the system configuration.

Quiet Operation and Effective Cooling

An intelligent, speed-regulated fan is responsible for maintaining optimal temperatures. The system automatically adjusts cooling intensity based on the current drive load, which helps ensure stable operation even during prolonged data transfers. The manufacturer has also optimized the enclosure design for airflow and vibration reduction. As a result, the device operates quietly, with a noise level of approximately 23.8 dB(A) under full load.

Energy Efficiency and NAS Expandability

The D2-320 supports a smart disk sleep feature that works in conjunction with the computer’s operating system. When the device is not in use, the disks can automatically enter sleep mode, reducing power consumption and wear on components. The enclosure is also equipped with protection against power surges, which safeguards both the device and the installed storage media. Additionally, this model can serve as a storage expansion for select TerraMaster NAS servers running TOS 5.1 or later.

Compact design and convenient drive installation

Despite its large capacity and extensive capabilities, the enclosure maintains compact dimensions of 222 × 119 × 154 mm. Weighing just 1.3 kg, it is easy to place the device on a desk or in a home data center. The Push-Lock design allows for quick installation and replacement of drives without the need for complicated maintenance procedures. As a result, getting the device up and running takes very little time and does not require specialized tools.
