A major overhaul of the internal design architecture of the new PS4 has reduced dimensions by more than 30% compared to the predecessor model and reduced weight by 25% compared to the very first and 16% PS4 model. Moreover, the PS4 is even more energy-efficient. Power consumption has been reduced by more than 34% and 28% compared to the first and current models. The bevelled housing design of the predecessor models of the new PS4 has been adopted. The shortened and rounded corners give the console a softer look. The glossy PlayStation Family logo in the middle of the top surface completes the stylish design.
