iRobot Roomba 616 on mõeldud eeskätt loomaomanikele, kuna tal on maailmas väga kiidetud AeroVac Bin konteiner. Lisaks on 600 seerial kasutatud 700 seeriaga turule tulnud puhastusmoodul, mis hoiab harjad puhtamana ja mida on veel lihtsam puhastada.

Võrreldes teiste 600 seeria mudelitega, on 616 mudelil tagasihoidlikum varustus.


Roomba on madala disainiga ning tänu sellele pääseb ta diivanite, voodite ja tugitoolide alla, kuhu tavatolmuimejaga on suhteliselt tülikas ronida. Roomba on kõigest 9,5 cm kõrge ning tema kõrgeim koht on infrapunaanduri kuppel. Kui robot jääb kinni, siis suudab ta end hõlpsalt taas lahti tõmmata.


iRoboti tolmuimejad tunnevad ära suurenenud prügihulga maas ning valivad automaatselt vastavalt puhastusprogrammi. Roomba eripäraks on pöörlev "saba", mis keerutab tolmu äärtest imemisosa poole. Koristusroboti kasutamise teeb mugavaks tolmukasti piisav maht. Robottolmuimejatel puuduvad tolmukotid.
