Das 50mm Tiltobjektiv sieht nicht nur außergewöhnlich aus, es ist auch außergewöhnlich. Die Fassung dieses lichtstarken 50mm-Objektivs ist kugelförmig und so kann das Objektiv in alle Richtungen um bis zu 15 Grad geschwenkt werden. Dieser Mechanismus kann mit einem Feststellring verriegelt werden. In der normalen Einstellung ohne Neigung ist das Objektiv ein lichtstarkes universelles Normalobjektiv. Zum Tilten (nur im APS-C-Modus) lässt sich das Objektiv um bis zu ±15 Grad in alle Richtungen schwenken. Das eröffnet neue gestalterische Möglichkeiten. (Zu beachten ist dabei allerdings, dass bei Vollformat-Sensoren beim Tilten leichte Vignettierungen in den Ecken auftreten können.) Durch das Tilten kann die Fokusebene geneigt werden. Schärfe aufgenommene Motive können somit selbst bei voller Blendenöffnung von vorn bis hinten scharf abgebildet werden. So wird z.B. ein Zaun oder ein Haus, schräg aufgenommen, völlig scharf abgebildet, während alles seitlich davon aber in der Unschärfe verschwindet. Im Nahbereich ergibt sich durch das Tilten eine Art „Alice im Wunderland“-Effekt. Kleine Figuren, Modellautos, Miniaturlandschaften erscheinen richtig groß, indem die Schärfeebene gekippt wird. Für hervorragende optische Qualität sorgt der optische Aufbau aus 7 Elementen in 6 Gruppen, für ein wunderschönes kreisrundes Bokeh die Blende mit ihren 12 Lamellen, die sich stufenlos von f/2,8 bis f/16 einstellen lässt. Das Objektiv besitzt einen Durchmesser von 50mm, eine Länge von 75mm und wiegt 339 Gramm. Ein 46mm Filtergewinde ermöglicht den Einsatz gängiger Einschraubfilter. Die Einstellung von Entfernung und Blende erfolgen manuell.
