Dieses 85mm Objektiv besitzt nicht nur eine Makroeinstellung sondern zusätzlich einen Schwenkmechanismus zum Tilten. Als reines Makroobjektiv ist es für Vollformat-Kameras geeignet. Bei dem Mindestabstand von 11cm von der Frontlinse zum Motiv (bzw. der Naheinstellgrenze von 25cm) ergibt sich ein Abbildungsmaßstab von 1:1. Damit eignet es sich hervorragend für Aufnahmen von kleinen Tieren, Pflanzen, Schmuck etc. Zum Tilten lässt sich das Objektiv um bis zu ±8 Grad neigen und um 360 Grad drehen. Durch das Neigen der Fokusebene ergeben sich neue gestalterische Möglichkeiten. (Zu beachten ist dabei allerdings, dass das Sensorformat beim Tilten auf APS-C begrenzt wird.) Der Tilt Effekt ergibt bei Aufnahmen in der Miniaturwelt eine Art „Alice im Wunderland“ Effekt. Kleine Figuren, Modellautos, Miniaturlandschaften erscheinen richtig groß, indem die Schärfeebene gekippt wird. Der Tilt Effekt ist aber nicht nur im Makrobereich interessant. Durch das Tilten kann die Schärfe bei schräg aufgenommenen Motiven selbst bei voller Blendenöffnung von vorn bis hinten erhalten bleiben. So wird z.B. ein Zaun oder ein Haus, schräg aufgenommen, völlig scharf abgebildet, während alles seitlich davon in der Unschärfe verschwindet. Als 85mm Objektiv und dem Bildwinkel von 28,2 Grad ist es natürlich auch ein ideales Portraitobjektiv mit guter Schärfenkontrolle dank der hohen Lichtstärke f/2,8. Für höchste optische Qualität sorgt der optische Aufbau aus 11 Elementen in 8 Gruppen, darunter zwei ED-Elemente zur Vermeidung der chromatischen Aberration. Für ein wunderschönes kreisrundes Bokeh sorgt die Blende mit ihren 12 Lamellen, die sich von f/2,8 bis f/16 einstellen lässt. Das Objektiv besitzt einen Durchmesser von 63mm, eine Länge von 110mm und wiegt 720 Gramm. Ein 55mm Filtergewinde ermöglicht den Einsatz gängiger Einschraubfilter. Die Einstellung von Entfernung und Blende erfolgen manuell.
