Das Makroblitz-Kit R1C1 ist ein einzigartiges kabelloses Blitzsystem für vollautomatische Blitzaufnahmen im Makrobereich. Das Kit besteht aus zwei externen Blitzgeräten vom Typ SB-R200, die am Objektiv befestigt werden können, und der Blitzfernsteuerungseinheit SU-800, die mit der i-TTL-Blitzsteuerung der Kamera verbunden ist. Für Belichtung und Blitzleistung relevante Informationen sowie das Signal zum Auslösen der Blitzgeräte werden kabellos mit Hilfe einer Infrarotverbindung von der Blitzfernsteuerungseinheit an die Blitzgeräte übermittelt. Das Kit enthält weiterhin einen Anschlussring und Ultranahbereichsvorsätze für die frontale Ausleuchtung im Makrobereich, Filter und Adapterringe für die gängigsten Filtergewinde bis 77 mm. Mit dem SU-800 können auch zusätzliche Blitzgeräte vom Typ SB-R200, SB-800 oder SB-600 gesteuert werden, sodass dem Fotografen sowohl für Innen- als auch Außenaufnahmen die Funktionen von Nikons Creative Lighting System in vollem Umfang zur Verfügung stehen.
