Affordable switches with 10G ports
The DGS-1250 are affordable switches that can be deployed as main switches in medium-sized businesses and access switches in large corporations. Their benefits include high port density, high-bandwidth ports to avoid bottlenecks, useful for larger deployments, redundancy to reduce downtime, easy-to-use graphical user interface, dedicated console and full control via CLI.
Easier maintenance and less downtime
STP, RSTP and MSTP support provides redundant connections, protects against loops, increases network reliability and minimises downtime for critical applications. The switches can operate over a wide temperature range, from -5 to 50°C. Dual operating system images and configuration files enable rapid software version and configuration changes to reduce downtime.
10G connections
All DGS1250 series switches are equipped with four 10G SFP+ ports, reducing bottlenecks and allowing a choice of media types. Flexible uplink connections in both 1G/10G speeds enable data-intensive tasks.
Switches suitable for video surveillance
A graphical user interface designed for video monitoring is available in monitoring mode. The interface provides real-time information about the network topology, quick access to all functions, and easy and convenient network management.
Layer 3 Lite
Layer 3 Lite includes IP interfaces, IPv6 Neighbour Discovery (ND), ARP-Snooping Prevention, IGMP and MLD Snooping, LLDP and LLDP-MED. The DGS1250 series switches also provide IPv4/IPv6 static routing, which translates into more efficient network performance and is useful for scaling.
QoS
The DGS-1250 series switches support 802.11p Quality of Service, which prioritises the delivery of data to devices based on traffic type. It also enables bandwidth control to reduce unwanted broadcast network traffic. In addition, Auto-Voice and Auto-Surveillance VLAN features allow voice and video traffic to be controlled, which is automatically recognised and prioritised.
Port-level security
The D-Link Safeguard Engine supports protection against data flooding on the network as a result of a malicious attack. The switches also support IMP-Binding, which enables easy control of nodes in the event of IP address conflicts, as well as protecting against ARP spoofing and man-in-the-middle attacks.
Network security is enhanced with ARP Inspection, DHCP Snooping and security and authentication features such as 802.1X port-based authentication and port protection for 64 MAC addresses per port. The DGS-1250 series switches also support network protection features such as Access Control List and DHCP Server Screening, which only allow valid DHCP Server IP addresses on specific ports.
Network management tailored to your business
The DGS-1250 family switches are supplied with the DLink Network Assistant (DNA) tool to help discover all devices using the DLink Discovery Protocol at the same L2 network layer. These are displayed on screen for quick access. This enables easy simultaneous configuration and basic settings on all found devices, along with password changes and software updates.
The switches can be managed via a graphical interface or the free D-View 7 tool supporting SNMP. Each switch is equipped with a dedicated console port and full CLI, giving more control, accuracy and repeatability.
