GL.iNet Slate 7 Router (GL-BE3600)

The GL.iNet Slate 7 (GL-BE3600) is the manufacturer’s first dual-band Wi-Fi 7 travel router, combining advanced networking capabilities with a compact design. It offers a total wireless throughput of up to 3,570 Mb/s, reaching speeds of up to 688 Mb/s on the 2.4 GHz band and 2,882 Mb/s on the 5 GHz band. Equipped with a 1.1 GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, 1 GB of DDR4 RAM, and 512 MB of Flash memory, it ensures smooth operation even under heavy load. Its compact dimensions of 130 × 91 × 34 mm and weight of 295 g mean it fits easily into a bag or backpack, providing fast and secure Internet access during business trips, vacations, and remote work.

Intuitive control thanks to the built-in touchscreen

The Slate 7 stands out with its touchscreen, which significantly simplifies network management without the need to log in to the admin panel. It allows you to quickly display a QR code for connecting to Wi-Fi, monitor transmission speed in real time, turn the VPN on and off, and switch between configured VPN services. Color-coded indicators also show the current connection mode—such as Ethernet, Tethering, Repeater, or cellular—providing convenient access to the router’s most important features.

Wi-Fi 7 for Maximum Performance and Multi-Device Support

The router utilizes the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard, offering Multi-Link Operation (MLO), enhanced OFDMA, 4K QAM, and Preamble Puncture technologies. These solutions increase bandwidth, reduce latency, and improve connection stability in congested network environments. Thanks to advanced network resource management, the Slate 7 can simultaneously support over 120 devices, ensuring smooth data transmission during 8K streaming, online gaming, video conferencing, and everyday work.

Secure VPN Connections and Privacy Protection

The device comes with built-in support for OpenVPN and WireGuard®, and is compatible with over 30 VPN service providers. Maximum connection speeds reach up to 385 Mb/s for OpenVPN-DCO and up to 490 Mb/s for WireGuard®, effectively securing data transmission without significantly impacting your Internet experience. The router can both connect to an external VPN server and act as its own VPN server, enabling secure access to corporate resources, home servers, network printers, and other devices on the local network.

High-Performance Hardware and Fast Wired Connections

The Slate 7 is equipped with two 2.5G Ethernet ports—WAN and LAN—which allow you to take advantage of high-speed Internet connections and ensure stable wired connections for computers, game consoles, NAS servers, and multimedia devices. Users also have access to a USB 3.0 port for connecting external storage devices. The router offers 1 GB of DDR4 memory and 512 MB of NAND Flash memory, providing sufficient resources to support complex network configurations and additional features.

OpenWrt and Extensive Customization Options

The router runs on OpenWrt 23.05 (Linux Kernel 5.4.213), offering advanced users extensive expansion and configuration options. Thanks to its ample memory, you can install numerous add-ons and extensions that allow you to, among other things, block ads, monitor network traffic, implement additional security measures, or create custom configurations tailored to specific applications.

Support for USB-C Power Delivery allows you to use the same chargers that power smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
