Three technologies in one device

Unlike standard motion sensors, SwitchBot uses an advanced 3-in-1 system that combines a light sensor to detect ambient light levels, a PIR sensor for quick motion detection, and mmWave radar for presence detection. This combination significantly increases speed and accuracy, as the device is not limited to merely detecting motion but can also recognize the presence of a person standing still. The sensor even detects the chest movements of a stationary person, making it ideal for use while bathing, working at a desk, resting, or reading. In practice, this means no more situations where the light turns off simply because you haven’t moved for a moment.

One of the biggest advantages of the SwitchBot presence sensor is its ability to distinguish between ordinary movement and the presence of a person in the room. These parameters enable the sensor to provide full coverage of spaces from the bathroom to the living room, meeting the needs of various usage scenarios.
