Elinchrom Rotalux Octa 175 cm is a large, octagonal softbox that delivers soft, even light for portraits, group shots and product photography. Its generous lighting surface wraps the subject in light with smooth shadow transitions, while the octagonal shape creates naturally rounded catchlights and reflections.
Removable inner and outer diffusers make it easy to adapt the character of the light to your subject. Use both diffusers for soft, diffused light, or remove one or both for a more direct, higher-contrast look.
Large lighting surface: 175 cm in diameter for portraits, groups and larger subjects.
Even light distribution: double diffusion helps distribute light across the front surface.
Flexible light shaping: removable diffusers make it easy to change the character of the light.
Easy setup: the design folds down like an umbrella for transport and storage.
Rotatable mount: adjust the softbox's position without moving the flash.
Fits multiple flash systems: choose a Rotalux Speedring that matches your flash. Speedring sold separately.

Soft, evenly distributed light
The Rotalux Octa 175 combines a large, reflective interior with an inner and an outer diffuser. Together, they distribute light evenly across the front of the softbox and create smooth transitions between light and shadow. This makes the softbox particularly useful when you need to light a larger area or create wraparound portrait lighting.

Easy setup with the Rotalux Speedring
The Rotalux mounting system makes the softbox easy to assemble, rotate and fold down. After the shoot, it folds down like an umbrella and packs into the included bag for transport or storage.
Rotalux Speedrings are available for several flash brands. Choose the model that matches your flash mount to attach the softbox directly to your system.
The Rotalux Speedring is not included and is sold separately.

Change the character of your light
Both inner and outer diffusers are included and can be used together or removed to modify the light. With both diffusers fitted, you get soft, diffused light. Removing the outer diffuser makes the light more direct, while removing both creates a higher-contrast look with more defined reflections.
On compatible Elinchrom flashes with a central umbrella mount, you can also use a deflector to influence light distribution and character. Deflectors can be combined with the diffusers or used with both diffusers removed. The deflector set is sold separately.

Control light spread with a Rotagrid
Add a Rotagrid for the Rotalux Octa 175 cm when you need more selective light control. The grid reduces light spill to the sides while retaining the soft character of the softbox. It helps keep light on your subject and reduces unwanted illumination of the background – useful for portrait photography and in smaller studios. Rotagrid sold separately.
